Lemtrada

Lemtrada
Lemtrada is an infusion therapy that is indicated to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) in adults who have tried two or more other MS medications that haven’t worked well enough.
Administration Information
Lemtrada infusions are administered in eight doses over two years, on five consecutive days in round one and, one year later, on three consecutive days in round two. Each infusion takes approximately four hours with a two hour observation period afterwards.
Potential Side Effects
Lemtrada can cause serious side effects, including autoimmune problems, infusion reactions, stroke and tears in your arteries that supply blood to your brain (carotid and vertebral arteries), and certain cancers. Because of your risk of autoimmunity, infusion reactions, and the risk of some kinds of cancers, Lemtrada is only available through a restricted program called the Lemtrada Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) Program.
For a full list of potential side effects, please see the Important Safety Information and Medication Guide on the Lemtrada website.
